The School of Drama and Scene Art
The main idea is to develop a mechanism that connects existing space of the open-air theatre with new program additions for school of drama and scenic art. The concept’s need for closed theatre is enabled through existing site paths and connections that are crucial for normal functioning of any theatre. The need to maintain the initial visual impression of the location led to creating necessary space for the school below the site’s ground. Diverse site topography, surroundings and orientation gave rise to corridor-like plan on different levels, providing ability for satellite amphitheatres on corridor’s slopes at same time giving them necessary integrity and isolation. The list of program’s different functions is converted into pre-defined architectural modules with necessary life-enabling parameters according to which those units group, decide on which ground level should they occur, how much light or noise should they receive, etc.
